Nowadays there are more nail polish brands than we can probably count. I’m here to break down the ones I’ve found that have less to no toxins in them. With a little one in the house it’s a concern of mine. I worry about the smell harming Navy’s little lungs. There’s enough in the environment. I don’t need to add anymore inside my home. Also, let me add I’ve tried most of these and you know I am all about a polish that lasts! You can read more about my way to keep nail polish on for at least a week…doing dishes too. Below is a list non toxic nail polishes that actually work. Sometimes when you go the more natural route, things aren’t the same. You’ll be happy with these options.
Zoya
I first tried this polish at a very upscale nail salon. One that left me shocked at the checkout price, almost $200 for a mani and pedi. Each time I see Zoya or use it I feel so extra. Good news is, it’s not that expensive.
Habit
Habit was pleasant surprised. I’m new to using Habit and sure it was going to chip right away. Maybe it didn’t because of my theory process but it lasted. It also stayed shinier than expected. Now, I need to get more colors.
Natural strengthening nail polish made with Myrrh Extract. PETA-certified as vegan and cruelty-free, gluten-free, Free of Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, TPP, Xylene, Phthalates, Parabens and Fragrances. Satin finish. Made in the USA
Smith & Cult
If you buy nothing else, invest in Smith & Cult. I’ve been in love with this line since Fashion Week 2017. It’s the best of the best. Makes a great gift when you want to show a little more love. The colors they have a rich! You must try Kundalini Hustle + Tang Bang. You won’t be sorry with either one of those colors.
- CRUELTY-FREE & PARABEN-FREE & PHTHALATE-FREE
Floss Gloss
Newly introduced to this brand. When I googled it I read a lot about how it lasts and doesn’t chip right away. Of course you want to make sure that your nails are oily and buffed before, as with applying any polish. That’s a big selling point for me. Nothing is worst than applying a polish and it chips that evening. I’m obsessed with this lipliner color! Mrs. Tony Montana is also a great all season white. Ummmm, love the name too!
- 7 free | FREE of 7 harsh chemicals typically found in nail polish. Floss Gloss is proud to be formulated without Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP) or Xylene
Côte
I was obsessed with COTE about 5 years ago. They had this crazy polish that was bubbled and I simply couldn’t get enough. It’s great to know that it’s also a less toxic nail polish. A great fall color to try is No. 52 Clementine Orange. It was surprising to learn that COTE has non toxic nail polishes. The style was so wild that it seemed impossible. Now I’m in love with the line more.
- Cruelty-free, vegan and free of the major toxins associated with nail polish: formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, camphor, formaldehyde resin and triphenyl phosphate (TPHP)
Piggy Paint
You can your little heart with Piggy Paint. Especially when it come to little ones using nail polish
PIGGY PAINT REMOVER INGREDIENTS:Corn alcohol, Aloe Vera extract, Vitamin E, embittering agent.
- Low Odor
- No Acetone
These would make great gift ideas!! Saving this. Thank you for the list! 💜
I have more coming down the pipelines…especially with the holidays coming!
I agree with Katie, these would make great Christmas presents. Your nails always look so good, AshLee 💜
Thanks, Jesse! Just remember, practice makes perfect.
Thank you so much for sharing these. Non toxic is important to me in all my beauty products. It’s best when trying for a baby/going through fertility treatments to pay attention to what you are putting on your body just as much as in your body. I love this post!
Love this. Especially the Piggy Paint. My almost 3 year old is into having her nails and toes painted just like me. Love there’s a kid friendly one that is low odor.
Thanks for the info. I am recovering from a brain tumor and am looking for all natural products to add to my beauty routine!
Wow! You’re so strong. I’m lifting you up in prayers! Keep me posted.
I love that you shared this! I change my nail polish color so often and I always get a laugh when you will change it so quickly too! I know that indecisiveness too well! Great idea for gifts and stocking stuffers, too!
Thank you for this!! So many popular nail polishes are loaded with so many toxins. Love having painted nails but hate putting that stuff on my body. Great list! Another one you should try that I love is Ella + Mila. 🙂
Thank you for posting this! My 10 year old daughter lovesdoing her nails so it is good to see there are better options for us.
Jen
Zoya is one of my fav nontoxic. Thanks for giving me some other options to try!!
Do you always do your own nails or get them done!? I have at home gel that I usually do. But I have slight OCD so if one nail chips it all has to come off! I typically get them done professionally before a holiday/ vacation. So heading to Mexico next week and looking for a neutral colour that goes with everything! Any suggestions would be great!!
I always do my own. Last year I went once. I always get hangnails and my feet are rough after leaving. So, I quit throwing my money away. Neutral colors, try that one I posted as a set from Zoya. The color is nice. If you want a darker neutral, try the Tang Bang by Smith and Cult.
I love all of your finds! I still use products you recommended like navy hair care and wow! Both are amazing, can’t wait to try this too!
This was great information. Thanks for the list ❤️
What a great post! I use Piggy Paint for my daughter, but am excited to try some of these for myself!
Yay! Glad to hear another mom approves.
I love how you are aware of all the toxins in different products! I have a baby just a month older than sweet Navy so it’s also so important to me that I use non-toxic items in my house!!
With so many things in our environment, why add more? You’re a good mommy.
Thank you for this post. I’ve tried several brands of toxic free polish and I seem to be just wasting my money . I’m looking forward to trying some of these. 🙂

After getting my nails done for 9 years, I finally decided to go natural!! No more gel! My nails were so damaged. When i do go for manicure, I won’t get nail polish. I will look into these you posted.
You need to try my method on how to keep your polish on for a week…at least. I wrote it for people like us!
Love this list! Not patient enough to paint my own nails…but looking forward to taking some of these polishes to the salon! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the list! I used to get my nails done quite frequently, but as you mentioned in your stories with a baby in the house it’s definitely something to be aware of when it comes to the toxins in some polishes. Will have to try some of these out!😊👍🏼

I am glad you researched this because I only want natural products on my skin and nails. By the way, Suzanne Sommers has some nail polish that is non toxic but I haven’t tried it yet.
No way. Thank you. I need to try hers.
Love the piggy paint – I have a sweet little 10 month old baby girl, so I know nail painting is in our future! Love that there is a safe option for her. Thanks for sharing!
I love the one Zoya polish I received from a subscription box a few years ago. I’ve been wanting to get some more and after reading this you’ve convinced me it’s worth the extra money!

It takes a little practice, but you can do it.

I wish more nail salons had these non toxic options!
You’re right. THe ones that do…$$$
Does the Piggy polish have a smell? I so glad you posted this post. I have a 4 month old that I put my fingers in her mouth all the time so I like there is a non toxic option for me. I also have a 3 year old, so the idea that there is a good and safe polish for her now that I had no idea about…lol
I have been using the toxic ones all along and had no idea how bad they were until after ready your post.
So thank you, def a mom win!!
You are so welcome, Ashley! It is nothing like the main stream brands.

Thanks for being my go to girl for little evwrything! Nail polish was never something I really bought. I always just went and got them done. Until I became a Mom! We love doing our nails together!
Love the colors in the habit collection! 💕
I love this!! I’m allergic to most polishes on the market. This helps…and I love that the last one can be for kids too! Thanks for the info.
Really!? I bet you could use one of these then.
I have a new baby so this is helpful since I always worry about what is safe and non toxic for the little ones!
As they get bigger you start to feel a little better. It’s those infant lungs that freak me out the most.
