I fluctuate big time between big curls in my hair and little curls. Once you have big Texas curls it’s hard to go to small ones. Which is how I’ve been wearing my hair lately. Today I wanna share with you how to get beach waves, big hair and big curls using a 1 1/4″ Bombay Curling Iron.
This technic was shown to me by Amanda, my new hair dresser. It only took me about 3 tries to get it down perfectly to my liking. It’s super easy however it does require the right equipment.

You’ll want to use a curling iron like Bombay for several reasons. This specific curling iron gets hot enough without having to hold it on your hair for too long of a period. Also, the clamp is super tight. This makes a difference when pulling the hair down…which helps create that perfect beach wave.
Instructions:
If you like that big Texas hair look then go back through and curl the top layer of your hair, around your crown. Hair spray it well and use a good hair care product. My personal favorite for today’s curls is Oribe Texture Spray. It not only smells good but you can also great to put all through your hair after curling it too for a little textured curl as well.
Some other products you all know I love are from R+Co. Foil is a great product for frizz! Before I put any heat to my hair I use Oribe’s Straightening Blow Out Cream. I also recommend using a higher end shampoo and conditioner. The last tip is, make sure you are using heat protection on your hair before putting any heat to it. You’ll want those big curls to last and have lots of shine to them!
