“Bae.” The term has sprung up everywhere these days. When I first heard it I was like, “Oh, it must be a shortened version of babe or something.” Makes sense, right? When you hear it spoken, you immediately think of Beyonce too. What is this bae phenomenon? It’s funny seeing words become popular.
If you didn’t already know, it stands for “Before Anyone Else.”Hate it or love it, it’s trending now, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t use it in conservation recently.
Today, my “bae” is this adorable little jumpsuit from Hope’s boutique. Right now, their looks are all about looking cute and feminine for springtime. Easter is coming up this weekend, and I’ll be sure to pull out some beautiful pastels to complete my look.
As you can see, I’ve been rocking the halter look in some of my most recent posts. And today, I do it again! Surprises me that it’s possible to pull off a halter jumpsuit. I mean, we’re not in the 90s anymore, yet this look feels so right and so modern.
So, who is your bae these days? Maybe it’s your boyfriend. Maybe it’s your adorable little puppy (yes!). With Easter coming up, I can’t help but make a Jesus reference. And maybe this will sound super cheesy, but Jesus is my “before anyone else.” He has to be in order for me to stay grounded in life. Everyone needs grounding in some way, and people find it in all kinds of ways. For me, Jesus has to be first, and I’ve accepted that in myself, in my romantic relationships, and with my perspective on life.
Would you look at that Louis??
It’s easy to let material items get in the way and have it become a selfish thing. But I don’t like when people assume it’s wrong to have nice things. Or expensive things. I think as long as you know that your possessions aren’t absolute, you are grounded. You’re like, hey, I ADORE my Louis purse, or my Kendra Scott jewelry, but I also realize that my true treasure lies in what’s unseen. And that all comes down to your core values, and what you truly believe.
So, figure out what your “bae” is today. Be positive, be affirmed, and maybe even try on a jumpsuit. That’s exactly what I did, and my day is going swell so far.
