Aww…is it me or does anyone else feel the spring air quickly approaching? I have had all I can take of this rainy, cold weather. It’s time to get some sunny rays on my skin. I glanced in the mirror the other day and thought, “who’s the Casper chick?” It’s just awful.
I started a new skin care regiment some of you may find interesting. About a week ago I went to see Dr. Yalamanchili for some advice on how to keep my skin looking fresh and young. As many of you know, I am not afraid to do anything that may prevent older looking skin. That includes Botox. Fun fact, Botox actually helps with migraines and headaches!
One thing that Dr. Yalamanchili’s esthetician got me using is a light retinol. For the record, I’ve done this in the past and my results were not great. First off, the dosage was too high for what I needed. Secondly, I was told to use it every night. This completely dried out my skin and I was miserable with the peeling for a month. Now I’m at half the amount and I use it every other night. So far, so good. I need a new layer of skin and a fresh glow.
With all the junk in the air and all the chemicals we “face” all day, taking care of your skin is of the utmost importance. My mother always had this porcelain skin and never did a thing to take care of it. I on the other hand not only love products but love feeling like I don’t HAVE to wear makeup all the time.
If and when I have a daughter, things will be different. I will have her put lotion on after every shower, never leave the house without lip gloss and earrings, and most importantly have her wear sunscreen every day of her life.
No one else can do it for you. Great skin doesn’t happen over night. Yes, some of it comes from genetics, but you should definitely be aware of your skin type and the products out there that might help. Dr. Y informed me that everything over the counter doesn’t penetrate the skin deep enough to do what it’s supposed to do. So before you spend the money on something that isn’t going to do the job you want it, educate yourself.
If you’re in the area, I would recommend giving Dr. Y a call. He knows what he’s talking about and he’s very thorough. He takes his time until you understand. I’ve already learned a lot from him.
Cheers to glowing skin!
