Finally, it’s happening. I’m making LA my home. It’s been my second home for quite some time now, but I’m ready to make the transition and fully embrace whatever opportunities and challenges come my way here. Today is all about celebrating. I’m finally here. Naturally threw on a pair of my YMI blue jeans to kick it around town. LA, you ready for me?
I’m curious – how many of you have moved to a brand new state? It’s exhausting. Kudos to anyone who’s uprooted from one place to another in an entirely new place. I drove from Texas to LA with my trainer and good friend Brandon, and another trainer Vic from my old gym. It took us over 30 hours to get there. Felt kind of like a road trip you take in college with little sleep, lots of rest stops, and a bunch of crazy car ride songs.
We did stop at a hotel to rest overnight, but it was sketchy. One of those roadside motels off the exits in the middle of nowhere. It certainly added to the adventure. You know the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Yeah, picture that kind of setting. I would be the girl who gets stuck in that kind of situation…and then I’d blog about it for you to let you know what I was wearing. High heels? Check.
One thing I will say, I’m very glad I decided to move myself and tow my car instead of waiting weeks to have my things delivered to LA via transport. It took a little extra effort, but it was well worth it. But towing a trailer halfway across the country? Yikes. If it weren’t for Brandon and Vic I have no idea how I’d make it.
So here I am, LA. I made it. So what does this all mean now? Some of you might be thinking what I’m going to do next with the blog, with my career, with the Bachelor behind me? That’s an easy question for me to answer. First off, the blog isn’t going anywhere. In fact, LA is where I go for most of my looks and my shoots. And now that I’m in LA, I’m close to a lot of friends and networking contacts that I can reach out to. Really, it’s all here, and I’m incredibly excited. Be on the lookout for some new collabs, some LA fashion finds, and new adventure.
