Happy Birthday Hemline! Just a few nights ago I was honored to host Hemline’s 1 year anniversary party at their Bryan/College Station store. What an amazing night. The store looked like an extravagant holiday display you see on 5th Avenue, complete with lights, ornaments, sparkle, and of course, a decked out Christmas tree.
I met so many wonderful ladies that night, and we talked fashion for hours. It’s not like I get bored with that anyway.
I mean, look at that gorgeous mirror. And the velvety green dressing room curtains. Shopping at Hemline feels like the royal treatment.
I wore a glittery mini cocktail dress from Hemline, naturally. I also got to spend time with Elisa McMurrey, the store’s owner, who has become a source of inspiration for me and my fashion finds. Notice the happy hour drink in hand. Cheers!
My favorite part of the night was getting to interact with shoppers who had all different kinds of personal styles. Sometimes you get so used to what’s comfortable for you, or what your favorite pieces are. Then, when you see others picking out items you typically wouldn’t wear, it inspires you to ask them about their fashion choices. What do they like about that garment? Who are their fashion icons, and why? Simple fashion choices can tell you a lot about a person.
Styling is an art form, but it’s completely influenced by others around you. You make it personal by stating what you like and what you don’t like, and you combine pieces in unexpected ways that will then influence others. As a result, fashion is cyclical in nature, but evolving along the way.
These beautiful, festive shots were captured by Austin-based photographer Braunwyn Glaser. You can see some more artistically inspired pics on her instagram account @BraunwynGlaser, or check out Hemline’s Facebook page for the whole party album.
