This may come easy for some, but for a lot of people out there the word “budget” is terrifying. Maybe you don’t know what in the world I could mean by “how to budget for the holidays.” Well, it’s easy and is a way to not let the holidays overwhelm you or get the best of your finances.
I also like to spend a little on myself during this time of year. There are so many sales that go on, it’s hard…even for the strongest saver to budget for the holidays. At the end of the day these small tips should help you stay in control.
- Make a list of everyone you need to buy for– this is an easy task to start with. Then, as you buy for that person check or mark by their names. Best bet is to put it in the note section on your phone or even screenshot my guide below.
- What’s your total budget amount? Come up with a number you’re comfortable with. Then use this formula to decide how much to spend on each person. Obviously, this doesn’t cover every type of situation, but can at least get you started.
Budget of $1500

If you have a lot of people in your life it is important to not completely blow all your money this holiday season. As our family is growing, I realize how many gifts I need to buy. I’m working on trying to be more price cautious…especially since we are building a house. You always need to be financially smart.
I have a ton of gift guides coming to the blog for y’all so you can get plenty of ideas for this holiday season. Hopefully I don’t miss anything!
