I recently met up with my good friend Leslie, and we came up with an exciting new blogging idea. L & A in LA (Leslie & AshLee, get it?). Maybe that will be the title of this new segment. LA has some incredible restaurants and cafés, as does every bustling city. We started talking about all the hip and chic restaurants out here, and decided it would be cool to start giving individual reviews on our blogs. Let me know if there’s a place you want us to visit! We’ll snap picks of our favorite foods and give our honest opinions.
Leslie: If you’re looking for food ideas in the LA area, Urth is definitely a winner. It’s classy, healthy, and delicious. I have visited 2 of their amazing locations, one in the heart of Beverly Hills, and the other in West Hollywood. And yes, you’ll probably see a celebrity there, which is neat. Last time I tried their Thai Tea with tapioca bobas…omg it was so good! All of their coffees and teas are organic too.
AshLee: This kale salad is from Urth. It’s rich in flavor with ingredients like quinoa, carrots, and tasty crouton sticks. And a sprig of mint finely placed at the very top! Urth is known for their organic coffees and teas, and their all natural entrées. They have 4 locations in California, but the LA spot is my favorite. It’s a hot spot for people watching, and you’ll most likely see a celebrity or two passing by. I used to go there pre-Bachelor days and I would gaze at all the people walking by. Now, it’s funny to me that I’m the one getting approached. Love my LA fans.
Sooo…no filter here. Clearly someone needs to buy me chapstick for my stocking. Mooomm??!
Has anyone ever had tapioca tea? It’s sooo delicious. Those little black dots you see are actually tapioca balls you can sip through a big straw. They’re lightly sweet and have a gummy texture. It’s also known as “Boba” tea.
AshLee: On to round two. Below is a breakfast from Aroma, located in the valley area. Aroma is so cozy and has all the breakfast comfort foods (see: bacon, eggs, toast). I do love fruit with my breakfast for a sweet, refreshing taste. Oh, and one cup of coffee please. Nix the melon though. I’m from Texas after all, the land of Texas toast and hearty steaks. Did you think I’d have some kind of green shake for breakfast? I save the greens for lunch and dinner.
Leslie: Like AshLee said, if you’re hungry, this place has all the right comfort foods for your belly. The studio city location is so cute, so cozy, and so relaxing. Not only are the food and drinks delicious, the interior decorating and the outside landscaping is filled with warm colors, flowers, and fountains. This is another huge hot spot, but the service doesn’t make you wait long at all. You’ll leave Aroma feeling refreshed, full, and satisfied.
AshLee: It was a rainy morning, so I took a snapshot of the leaves outside my car. Isn’t it beautiful? I love how delicate they are. The color contrasts nicely with the pavement.
