I haven’t actually shared too much with you about my LA adventures, but today you can take a little peek into my world through the lens of my Olympus PEN E-PL7. We’ll just call it PEN for short. I admit that I’m a bit obsessed with my phone and I have it on my at all times, but certain moments call for a real camera that won’t give you funky lighting or crop things out. One of my favorite features to the PEN is it fits perfect into my purse. It also has filters to it. I’m a filter fanatic. Here are some of my favorite LA spots as told by these #PENworthy shots:
1. Best Coffee Shop: Alfred’s Coffee – A lovely little spot that just opened in Silver Lake, which is right near where I live. It has a homey feel, and the words “But first, coffee” are displayed across the ceiling boards.

2. Best Dog Park: Lake Hollywood Park – I was driving around one day with Bailey and we stumbled upon Lake Hollywood Park. It is THE spot for dogs. Lots of open space, and of course, the iconic Hollywood sign is in the background which makes all the difference.

3. Best Lunch Spot: Sweet Greens – Everybody, meet your new salad obsession: Sweet Greens. I get the Hollywood Bowl (notice the Hollywood theme?): 685 cal organic wild rice + shredded kale, jicama, grapes, raisins, sprouted almonds, goat cheese, roasted chicken, and balsamic vinaigrette. Yum.

4. Best Cheese & Wine Spot: CheeseStore in Silver Lake – Cheese and wine are a girl’s best friends. Until that handsome hunk comes along and shares it with you, of course.

5. Favorite Shopping Strip: Melrose, in The Alley. I’ve spent hours walking up and down the street and stopping at my favorite stores there: Alice + Olivia, DVF, DASH, Hervé Leger, Carolina Herrera, and Chloé. This designer duds on this street are straight out of a Vogue issue.
So, there you have it. You’re own little guide if you’re ever in the area. It’s nice to take pictures of my own, since I’m usually being photographed for the posts I do. I truly appreciate the art of photography, and I know a handful of photographers in the area who have helped me learn how to take my own fabulous shots. The PEN is a perfect kind of camera for when you’re on the go – not bulky and easy to store. Oh, and yes it’s also made for selfies with its 180 degrees Flip Touch Screen. So don’t fret!

Love Alfred’s! Been to the one on Melrose place? Grab a coffee and go over to Croft Alley for breakfast or lunch. Ask for Madison or Phuong. The yogurt with chlorophyll sounds weird but is super good. So are the gluten free waffles. And the vermicelli!!
