The season of backyard hosting is here so I’ve been diligently working on my own outdoor patio makeover! With spring settling in, it’s a perfect time to bring life and hosting back to the outdoors. I bounce back and forth between having a neutral patio that matches my exterior colors or throwing in a wild card like yellow. There’s a yellow umbrella that I’ve been stalking online, it’s perfect. It gives me those vintage hotel vibes that make a patio feel new but familiar. With my patio being a rectangle shape, I think adding height and other shapes helps bring dimension to the flat side of my house. It’s been a task trying to combat a bright white house in the Texas sun all while creating a cozy set up. I’m feeling determined this week so I’ve been doing some online research! It’s the best kind “research”.
My first recommendation is a pretty rug. When decorating inside I love bringing outdoors in but this is a way to cozy up the outdoors. If you have a white house like mine, a rug is also a great way to soak up the bright sun so your patio isn’t blinding (not even joking).
Something else I am a sucker for is an elegant a great table scape. I’ve told myself that I need to do a full post on how to put together the ultimate table scape. I’ll work on doing this soon. In the meantime, I’ve linked the classiest pieces to pair for your outdoor table. I’m telling you, creating a table scape is not only fun to do but it also will impress your guests. Details are everything! Even Navy gets excited when it comes to helping me set the table. She loves showing off her work in the end. It’s really cute to watch. So, include the littles. They learn and get to have fun!
This season, I’m finding some of the best patio furniture and decor from William-Sonoma, Serena & Lily, Anthropologie and Target. Make sure the inside of your house feels as good as the outside of your house with decor for your entryway. Good luck with your patio makeover!
My vision for our outdoor patio makeover
Going back to my patio, I always think of The Beverly Hilton when I’m imagine how I want mine to look. There’s something about the traditional style home with striped umbrellas and lounging chairs… you feel like you’re on vacation. The vintage details are also cozy year-round. Though my home is a traditional southern home, I have fun with incorporating Hampton-style features and even European influence. Throw some toile patterned pillows on the chairs and it is a perfect blend.
Tablescapes
A few weeks ago, I was out and about running errands and came across an adorable lemon table set. It got me excited for my own table scape and inspired me to use yellow more. Pinterest had the best layouts for a classy, lemon table scape so I had to show y’all. I added some pieces to make my own version of this. Can’t wait to enjoy it!

There you have it friends, fun and exciting way to spruce up your outdoors. Add some pillows, side tables, cute umbrellas and rugs and your upgrade can be made into a perfect oasis! Just add a lemon cello.
