Wow! Moving from Texas to LA went by in a flash. It all seems like a big blur at this point. With that said, I’m happy the moving part is over, and I’ve finally found a place to call home. My new spot is cozy and precious, right in the historical area of Los Angeles in the Hollywood Hills.
Today’s outfit is inspired by my vision of what 1927 meets the 21st century looks like. This faux fur vest from Lover + Friends has the chic glamour of the 20s, with the modern kind of wild side we’ve come to expect.
My building was built in 1927. That’s a stark contrast to the super modern buildings you see downtown and the glitzy looking real estate. As I walk down the hallways ways I envision Marilyn Monroe elegantly slipping into the vintage elevator, original gate still intact.
You can’t go anywhere in LA and not imagine what it used to be like to walk the streets and alleyways of such a glorious era. Speakeasies, jazz bars, and all the latest in vintage Hollywood. What I would give to go back in time for a day to see what it was like.
So there’s a little fashion history lesson for you all. If you find history boring, I’d suggest learning about it through the context of history because you will be amazed at what some of your favorite trends and styles emerged from the decades past.
