What I love most about fashion week is that there are surprises around every corner. When I was invited to a small, private event for Rebecca Minkoff I immediately accepted. It was an extra delight when she showed up at the store to meet the influencers invited to view her fall collection. Which by the way was HOT… literally right off the runway.
Of course I had to buy a few pieces from the collection. One being a suede blazer and the other is an army print skirt (both looks coming soon to the blog). Rebecca Minkoff also had a few pieces from her fall collection I really wanted to get. I’m still not sure why I didn’t grab one of them. The problem was that we were the middle of NYFW and any extra room in my luggage was already gone. There’s a little regret settling in already. Should I have mailed the pieces to my house?
I also managed to scoop up a leather jacket. Rebecca Minkoff had a guest artist onsite (instagram: @bkaspr) to design anything you wanted on the jackets. Going with my blogs 1980’s theme, I decided to get “1980” inside the collar and “Rock & Roll” on the sleeve. It felt completely appropriate in the blue and pink 80’s/90’s colors.
Speaking of 80’s or rather the 90’s. This event was co-hosted by Essie. The new line is full of 90’s colors and each color has a 90’s fun name attached to it. There’s a light pink named, “SAVED BY THE BELL” and a perfect blue called, “AS IF.” Could that be any more perfect? I made sure to include them all here for you to check out and pick your favorite.
