What does romance mean to you? This is a tricky one. You can watch shows like “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette,” and you know there’s an overdose of lovey-dovey romance on the set. The flowers, the candlelit dinners, the moonlit walks in an exotic vacation spot…sure, all of those things can be romantic. They also make for great television ratings. So, what does romance mean to you?
To me, romance is a lot more than gifts or external things. That’s easy to say, but it’s hard to explain. Romance isn’t something you can bottle up and sell to people, the way reality TV does. To me, romance is all about spending quality time with someone you care about. It’s something that makes you feel incredibly loved and special when you least expect it. Of course, flowers and wine are not out of the question.
If I lived close to the mountains, I think every night would be romantic. Something about the big expanse of a mountain range and a cozy cabin feels so peaceful and inviting. You can take things slowly, enjoy some wine and cheese, throw on a little John Mayer or Marc Broussard, and you’re on your way to a very intimate, romantic night.
This New Year’s Eve will be a romantic one for sure, but probably in a way you wouldn’t expect. I have a wedding to attend, which will be a very exciting, memorable night. Everyone wants to party on NYE, so why not celebrate the marriage of a loving couple while you’re at it? The wedding better top all other New Year’s parties. It’s up against some heavy competition.
This lovely dress from Crocus Couture has romance and midnight kisses written all over it, don’t you think? The teal green brings such a beautiful pop of color to my New Year’s Eve look, and the lacy fabric adds a boost of sexy. Crocus is an LA boutique favorite of mine, and I wanted to make sure they were on your radar for any end of the year holiday parties. As you know, I love featuring stores and brands run by creative, smart women with an eye for fashion. Crocus is certainly one of them, and I’m all about their hand-selected designers and looks.
A pretty pink lip goes perfectly with a dress like this. I can’t wait to get a midnight kiss.
