Is anyone else besides me still exhausted from the holidays? Unfortunately there’s no time for rest when you’re a “Boss Lady.” I found this mug at Lilli + Tori and it’s a perfect representation of my life. I am in control of my destiny. Today I want to be an encouragement to you all. You too are in full control of your own lives and happiness.
Listen, I truly understand that it isn’t always easy working for yourself, but the reward is worth the tireless nights. You have to advocate for yourself and you’re on a constant hunt for the next project.
What are your dreams? Where do your passions lie? Maybe it’s to own your own business. Maybe you want to be a full-time blogger like me. No one ever said goals were easy to achieve. The harder the struggle, the more you will appreciate the success.
Find that inner drive. Dig deep for what makes your dreams come true and fight for it. Don’t take no for an answer. You might not know this, but I worked in a corporate setting for 11 years. And I hated it. Granted, the money was a nice perk. But if you’re only working for money, you easily get jaded. I worked for a grumpy old man who treated me like crap every day. That was all the fuel I needed to leave that position, and pursue what I loved: fashion, organizing, and designing. I didn’t know how I was going to do it, but I knew I was going to do it. It was time to let the artistic side of me get some life, since I had buried it for so many years.
So I left the corporate grind to immerse myself into the world of fashion, and prove that you don’t have to drop tons of cash to look great. Thus began ashleefrazier.com. Style on a budget. That’s what I hope to share with my friends, followers, and likeminded fashion bloggers.
Take this look, for instance: Gap sweater, Elizabeth Stone ring $85, Shield & Stone necklace $140 (both from Lilli+Tori boutique) and a fashionable statement mug from Renée Design $24. Compare that to designer brands, which cost an arm and a leg for a tiny sweater.
As a bonus, here is a special 25% off discount code to shop at Lilli+Tori, code AF25. Can be used on everything except Bourbon & Bowties.

Hi Ashley love all the recent inspiring posts! So great to know that u left the corporate business world and made a bold move such as you did. I too left the business world a while ago and due to a hostile working environment with men I haven’t dove into anything again and I would love to find something that made me find my zing or passion for work again as I once did. Always loving your blush or whatever u wear on your cheeks , what is the color and brand? Thanks have a inspiring day!
