Crop top and skirt again! This time, it’s a floor-length, sequined skirt. Definitely not something you see often, but I’m head over heels for the look and feel of this gorgeous piece by Windsor. And just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean you can’t look festive. This is one of the several shoots I had with the talented Colin Young-Wolff while I was in LA.
The “Strong” top is sporty and bold. I love putting together seemingly opposite pieces. The one uniting factor is the color black, which makes me seem taller with the elongated silhouette (oh and the Louboutin heels too, I suppose that helps).
Who are the Strong women in your life today? Friends? Family members? Pop culture icons? No matter who they are, I think it’s very important to have a female mentor in your life who can answer tough questions, teach you how to speak up for yourself, and put some sense into you when it comes to dating relationships.
This year, I’m still looking up to those motherly figures, and staying close to friends who are genuine and have a love for life. At the same time, I am becoming a mentor to others, which is exciting and humbling. As an adopted child, I could have easily scorned my childhood and wished for something different. But I wouldn’t have it any other way, because I grew up with strong men and women who I still consider my true family today.
