Today I am channeling my inner nautical self. Spring is just around the corner and I’m stocking up my wardrobe now. It needs a spring makeover. Today’s outfit is coming to you from Hope’s Boutique, another fabulous online boutique spot I sought after.
This blazer is a must have in my closet. The bright yellow color…I saw it and I knew it belonged to me. I feel a twinge of the 80s wearing this blazer, except for there’s no enormous shoulder pads which is a good thing. I may have been a young girl in the 80s, but I sure was aware of the fashion around me. Nothing wrong with bold colors and shapes to the beat of a synthesizer-loving 80s band.
Anyone notice the primary colors here?? It’s almost too obvious! Even if you’re not an artist, you’ve definitely seen the Piet Mondrian paintings, where he uses the grid-like design with blue, yellow, red, and black colors. Very artsy. You’re seeing a lot of stars wearing these colors too, like Lupita Nyong’o and Emma Stone.
Love my Kendra Scott ring. And what do you think about the zipper detail on the skirt?
The front of this skirt is awesome. It sips 3/4 of the way up. It’s high waisted look keep me ready for my meetings all day. It also ties into the zippers on the blazer. So even though all of these pieces in my outfit seem different on their own, when put together you notice all the details coming out and how they tie together.
Loving the over the shoulder look too. Do you ever wear a jacket or a blazer just so you can tie it around your waist, throw it over your shoulders, or let it sit on your shoulders while you walk? A jacket can be fashionable in so many ways. It doesn’t just have to be something to keep you warm without any street fashion cred.
