I’m dying to share my latest California trip with you all. I’ve had some fantastic networking opportunities, so stay tuned for some exciting developments to come this year. Usually when I come to Cali it’s allow about the glamour surrounding LA and Hollywood. This time, I was venturing about in Orange County.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to this area. I’m talking years. As beautiful as it is out here, it’s a lot further than my normal Cali excursions. When you think of California, it’s much more removed from the normal hustle and bustle. I get it though. Some people like to settle down, get married, and have a family. The OC is the place to do that. It’s one of the cleanest places I’ve been to in California. They pride themselves on their community and pristine environment, and it shows.
Above is an amazing shot I caught of a little girl blowing bubbles at Huntington beach. I caught the bubble mid-pop. It’s hilarious and beautiful at the same time. She was having SO much fun. Man, this trip was good time to reflect. It definitely reminded me of when I was a kid and had all the freedom in the world to laugh, smile, and play at my own will.
The fact that the ocean is a 30-40 min drive is definitely the best perk. If you’ve never been to OC, I recommend it. Honestly, I don’t know why this isn’t known to be a honeymoon spot anymore. You could easily fall deeper in love on the pier at Huntington Beach. I got to watch the surfers do their thing on the waves while relaxing on the beach. Ever since being on this huge fitness kick, I appreciate how hard it is to surf. You need to have a killer core and excellent balance. If you can surf, you earn my respect.
Not too shabby, buddy!
Even the older men are out hitting the waves. Narly!
Another incredible place to check out is Balboa Island. I don’t want to give everything away, but this is the perfect, low key romantic hot spot. It’s quiet, the people are friendly, and you don’t need to rent a car. The view is also incredible. It reminds me of a smaller version of the Hampton’s.
Here is the view from Balboa Island. While the Northeast was experiencing a major blizzard, this is what I got to relish.
Funny though, I never knew how large pelican are. These guys could easy knock someone out!
Speaking of Hampton’s, I am excited to share some amazing news with you all. This summer I received an offer to visit the Hampton’s for an extended period of time. I’ll get a first hand look of the place many people only dream of going to. I’ll be staying there on an off during the summer, and you bet I’ll be shooting some summer-fun inspired shoots. Talk about a God-given blessing.
This trip to Cali was not only a business networking opportunity, it reminded me dearly of summer and the magic that comes with it. Summer is a time of freedom, smiling, and ice cream cones. It really makes you think back to when you were a kid.
One last thing. I love hearing from you all. It’s probably one of my favorite things about blogging. I wanna hear about your favorite California vacations.
