For those of you who read this title and started humming Ace of Base’s “The Sign,” well, that’s not exactly what I had in mind, but hey, it’s a classic song. The sign I’m talking about is the one and only Hollywood sign. I’ve been in LA this week (I seem to fly there more and more lately), and wanted to make sure I didn’t leave without the iconic sign in my shoot.
For everyone on the east coast, winter in LaLa Land isn’t really winter. It’s usually 60 degrees and sunny, which is why I can get away with this lace gold appliqué crop top from Windsor. Windsor has an incredible selection of sparkly, glam pieces like this right now. I think it’s the perfect choice for warm-weather holiday style. This isn’t necessarily a piece you’d wear in the dead of summer. It has a very wintery theme to it.
On second thought, this would be a good New Year’s top too. I could always pair it with a high-waisted skirt. Windsor has some cute black sequined ones. What are you all doing for New Year’s? Am I getting ahead of myself since Christmas hasn’t even happened yet? Hey, before you know it February will be here and it will be Valentine’s Day, so don’t judge my enthusiasm.
Louboutin booties go well with any outfit. Can’t say no to the famous red bottoms.
Ah, and here I am with the sign! There you are Hollywood, I see you hiding behind the trees. Not only am I here to visit friends, but I have some very important upcoming looks to shoot and some last-minute business meetings. A lot of the boutiques I blog about are based in LA, so it’s great to come here and meet face to face. Normally I’ll talk with boutique owners remotely, but when I finally visit the store, it’s a whole new level of intimacy. Texas will always be my hometown, but LA is the place to be in terms of trendy, west-coast fashion.
I’d love to hear about your holiday fashion. Sparkles? Glitter? Gold? Ugly sweaters? Ha. You won’t be seeing any ugly sweaters here, but I can guarantee you I have some sitting at my parents’ house buried in the attic somewhere. This holiday season, go with something glam with a sheen like this Windsor crop top. And if you can make it to Hollywood, I’ll see you there.
