Happy Valentine’d Day my sweet lovelies
I was once the girl who said, “I’d rather not love and never feel the pain of being hurt, than love and be hurt.” We’ve all been burned by love before. That’s life, because humans aren’t perfect, and we don’t love perfectly.
That was until I finally decided to let the guarded wall down around my heart. I’ve seem so many instances of God’s graciousness in my life, as well as the love available to me if I’m just willing to receive it. Don’t get me wrong, there are still moments when I think to myself, is love all it’s cracked up to be?
I’d hate to let my life go by and miss any kind of opportunity to be loved, or to love back. This means I need to be willing to reach out, and willing to accept response without fear.
I feel like today people think love is a compromise. They think they have to play a game of tug-of-war to get what they want, and nobody ever ends up happy. But love is a sacrifice. It has no time for pride. True love is about serving the other person. When you’re both serving each other sacrificially, it’s a beautiful harmony.
